recent respray + bird s**t

Post by nickpolo »

my polo gti recently had a respray following an accident (had it back about a month), anyway, noticed today there was some birds crap on the bonnet (which had been replaced and resprayed) i rinsed it off without scrubbing at it - now bearing in mind the car was clean on saturday, it could only hacve been done yesterday, so its only been on there a day, and i have a f**king mark on my bonnet - where the acid has eaten into the new paint -

how can i sort this guys?

tried a small amount of polish after washing as i know you're not supposed to polish new bodywork - but this didnt improve anything. only just had it bloody resprayed!!

I had this on my bonnet - only been on the paint less than 24hrs but there was a mark.

Had to use Meguiars DC1 paint cleaner and about 6 passes of ScratchX on a PC to remove it

I wouldn't advise you using it on fresh paint to be honest - i'd ask the paint shop there advice.

Meguiars DC1 is availible from www.meguiars.co.uk in the shop or look for a local stockist.

A PC is a Porter Cable Dual Action Random Orbit polisher - available from the USA. Check out http://www.autopia-carcare.com/pc-7424.html for more info.

It's pretty much a must have if you are in any way bothered about
a) How long it takes to do your car
b) Saving aching arms and back
c) Getting the best possible finish from your car.
