all depends on what kind of music you listen to mate

the 12s will be much better if you listen to music with quick bass tracks like hip hop, sort of, where as 15s are better at slower, lower frequencies such as the stuff you get on bass cds

id say a well amped pair of 12s will be just as loud if not louder than a single 15 but it wont sound as deep, if you get what i mean

plus when you talk about sub ratings look for RMS instead of Peak power, gives a much better indication of the subs capabilities

I'd stick with the 2 12's you've got, although I'm a one sub guy anyway  if you've got em, keep em they'll sound real good powered right.

I reckon im hitting 130/140 dB of bass with my two 12" subs powered by a 1000W RMS digital mono block amp and it was only about 90 with a single and s**t amp

depends if you want to put your shopping in the boot i spose 8)

I hit 134.3 with my 1 12 powered by a 400w RMS Magnat X-Cite 801, meaning the sub was UNDERpowered by 200w RMS! Would have been good for 140 with the right power.

thats pretty good mate, ive got main gain on about 40% at the mo coz im running my subs in properly so hopefully i can get near the magical 150 mark when its set up properly

my subs are rated at 700W RMS but they didnt handle that much in a mag test so i dont want to push them to hard 8)

The XXX should be good for 150 set up right and in the right box, I'm just gonna go for the 1 15"
