was going to put this in the existing thread but that's already chocka'd with piccies, and i've got another 17 (~300kb total) to stick in, plus a link to a video if i can ever get it hosted
(whee, self indulgent excess)
first up, here's the nice, secure jacking solution

looking better in the sunlight, i tried some different angles and approaches... still, progress was slow

"suddenly, there was a change" #swing rhythm kicks in#

at this point i had images of you've-been-framed hilarity ensuing, so just in case £250 was in the offing i switched to video mode. i'm most impressed by how my camera managed to keep stamina up for a good 19 minutes of near-VHS-quality 30fps mode. sound was bobbins though, and the action was slow, and so here i present to you...
the silent, london-to-brighton-in-4-minutes version of me extricating the thing

you'll need divx of course, and maybe a 2x zoom (reduced to 256x192). no more than that though as i really went to town on the compression and it'll start looking like lego
(992kb, got a good 11kb/sec out of the crocus server on a test run so shouldn't take much longer to load than to play)
liberty base to houston control... the seagull has landed

bit of (even more) mindless self indulgence: on extracting myself from the werkin's i found an unexpected present, allowing one to partake in that great british tradition dontcha know... a good cuppa after a dirty slog
that's definately an "O" not an "A", i know i have dyslexic fingers sometimes but i double checked!

all was not 100% well however, as i found i had fallen prey to the dreaded Claggy Splunge, and swiftly experienced a trio of WTF moments.
Namely, wtf is that stain (gearbox oil

...wtf is that pipe, and "wtf, should there really be SO MUCH dirt and gunk inside the bellhousing, where, yknow, the clutch lives?"

in any case, it's all dropped now, time to scoot this one into the shed (+ drain the oil, open case, see how difficult a diff swap may be), remove the mount, and go pick up a replacement CEG from DaveG40@porka...

a couple of zoom details to finish with...
pretty sure THAT isnt supposed to be there!

(phew! finished!)
