Ultimate Dubs 2006

Post by Si_GTi »

Spotted on Club Lupo, a new show is being organised for the start of next year's show season, so I thought it'd be nice to bring it to your attention:
The show is called 'Ultimate Dubs 2006' and will bring together over 150 of the very Best Water-cooled VW, Audi & Seat Show Cars, together under one roof at the Telford International Indoor Centre (Nr. Birmingham) The show is supported by Local, National & European advertising, aimed to bring together the best show cars, Clubs & associated companies for the enthusiast to enjoy.

The show is to be held early next year on Sunday 5th March 2006 to kick off the show season and is ideal for people to see the best show cars & the new show cars which have been built over the winter months!

The venue is located just off the M54 motorway, slightly to the west of Birmingham making it easily accessible and in the centre of the country. The International Centre is a modern building with all the usual facilities and over 100,000 sq.ft of heated exhibition space with car parks adjacent. There are 8 hotels within the vicinity of the Centre to keep exhibitors happy.

The show will feature the following attractions:-

• The Best VW, Audi & Seat Show Cars (Stock, Modified & Custom)
• All the Top Accessory, Parts, Tuning, Wheel, I.C.E & Styling Companies
• I.C.E Demo Vehicles
• The Best National & Regional Club Display Vehicles - (National Clubs - Indoors and Regional Clubs - Outdoors)
• Special Displays - MK1 Stock / Retro Display - Audi Quattro Display - 5 Generation GTI Display, etc.

I know it's not until next March  but hey, it'll be here before you know it!

Pros: it's based indoors (we are a "national" club rather than regional so could get a stand indoors) so the weather won't mess things up, and it's dead close to where I live (15 minutes)

Cons: it's a new show, so no-one knows what it's going to be like or who will (or won't) turn up or in fact if it will be any good at all!

What do you think?

We might have to be "UK Polos and Friends" (and get more spaces) if this is anything to go by:
CLUB DISPLAYS

There are two types of Club Display Stands available at 'Ultimate Dubs'.

Indoor Stands - For National Clubs (max. 4 vehicles per Club Stand)

Outdoor Stands - For Regional Clubs (max. 6 vehicles per Club Stand)

Due to the large number of clubs, all Club Booking Forms need to be received by no later than 22nd January 2006, as space is limited.
Only four cars? I guess the idea is that the Club Displays are made up of the best that each club has to offer, which rules me out  as my car isn't exactly show and shine material (for example I don't clean inside my wheelarches very often). Still, whether or not I'm on a display stand, me and the Polo will be making the trip and seeing if the new show is any good :D

I live not to far from telford, so im up for it. As for show quality my polo is less then a week old, its the new 9n3 shape, at the moment its standand, but by January plan to have it lowered on my old coilovers, schmidts TH-LINES 15"x9 and 15"x10 on the back, with the arches pulled and rolled, will this get on the UK-POLO stand. I wash the car at least every other day, if not every day, and wax and polish it every week. Is this o.k to make the grade???? Would realy like to put my car on show

It's more than enough to "make the grade", as you put it. My car is pretty much standard, so doesn't get much attention but for me its more about being there and representing the forum, and giving people an idea of what we're about. You are more than welcome to come along if something gets sorted 8)

Bump!

Due to the large number of clubs, all Club Booking Forms need to be received by no later than 22nd January 2006, as space is limited.

Time to get things sorted - or should I say gauge interest. If enough people are interested and UK-P are going to attend, and indoor display can take 4 vehicles, or an outside display can take 6 vehicles. According to the website, "if you require a Club Stand for more than the stated number of vehicles above, then please contact us".

As for the line on all show vehicles needing to be of "show quality and in excellent condition", I take that as meaning "clean and tidy", so in other words probably no rat-look or unwashed examples? I'm going to contact the organisers via e-mail tomorrow and get a more definite answer on exactly what they want from their displays - this line on quality and condition also appears (understandably) in the description for the Main Display, which I would imagine would be show-and-shine levels of cleanliness!

Oh and guess what? I cleaned out the muck from my wheelarches last week
