engine trouble

hey all im a new member and will up load some pics of the green monster soon! anyways my polo is a 97 1.0L the 999cc alloy block version and im havin abit of idle trouble! when the car is warm and held at over 3000rpm for a distance or if i accelerate sharply, when my car comes to a standstill again the idle fluctuates between 700 and 1400rpm and sometimes stalls! any ideas?? cheers Nick
