Well we all know its coming out....
Did anyone think it was a bit crap at first (like me) but it grew on me & I'm lovin it now... yah...
Anyways 0-60 = 8.2

what do the current Gti's do 0-60 in?

For the new gti 8.2 is the 0-62 time.

plus doesnt it have the 1.8 T engine in it?

easily chippable etc.

The quoted 6N2 GTi's 0-62 time is 8.9 sec's, so with a 1.8T they have increased it by 0.5, not that much really as standard anyway.

The torque will make the new gti feel alot quicker.

152nm @3300rpm vs 229nm @1950rpm

We will obviously have to confirm this on a test drive though! :D

The offical 6n2 0-60 time is actually 8.4. If the golf engines are anything to go by, its gunna be s**t. Did anyone see topgear when like a skoda beat the 1.8 150bhp one?

I did, it was a Skoda and a Rover 25, and they both easily beat it :shock:

They couldnt make it any faster.
Would take the attention away from the Golf GTI.
Too slow and not enough power to convince me into spending £14'850
Yes its mappable, if you want to through the warrenty away.

There's a thread on uk-mkiv's here which casts a bit of doubt on that Clarkson race.

I mean come on, a Rover automatic! :lol:
