It would be possible - just need to buy that card part from VW dealer parts, pop out the blank and replace with this

I have no experience with this new Polo dash, so it could be that you need to remove the whole plastic cover in middle first (complete section with vents in) to take it off or just will pop out when prised from a side using a plastic tool (so not to damage dash)

Hope this helps :)

The part number is 6Q2 858 373 1QB (tray for credit card black)

I believe it is easier to take the CD changer and h/u out to get to the back of the black bit then you can pop it out.

Old post so you may have already done this.

I could remove the blank with my fingernails (cheap tool)

I wondered .... could another cup-holder be fitted in there ?

I like to keep my fingernails short and am not sure they will take the strain really if I tried to use them to remove it, most likely clipped in tight to stay in place...

anyway, yes you could, fit the part meant for a LHD car to that side

You can order the LHD part thru your dealer without any probs that I can see. I think it should clear the steering wheel area and stalk still??

Under Guides/Mods theres an entry re Cubby Box mod by a member 'Mole' who doesn't seem to post now, ,

as an aside he talks about fitting a second cup-holder ,
but my anti virus protection stuff will not let me view his photos so I am not sure what he is saying ,

is it possible or not ?

Has any one done it ??

I still want to see how the drinks holders work on the 9N / 9N3 because they're sideways?

If I had one in mine, the Shell points card and the work carpark pass would be my choices :D

Tom, next time i see you remind me and i'll let you play with my cup holder.

And you wouldn't be able to put a second cup holder in as it would hit the indicator stalk.
