Elect Sunroof Help

Hi,

My electric sunroof has totally stopped working, i have checked the fuse and that is fine. I'm turnin the nob and nothing is happening ????


Any help would be great

Sure you are checking correct fuse?

It could be the actual switch that is dead or if you have not used it in a while, it might have seized up? Perhaps manually open it and WD40 the runners if this is the case?

i actually opened up behind the switch at the weekend, and it comes with like a metal handle to turn the motor which opens the sunroof..

you cant actually see any mechanical works, it just looks like a big expensive motor in a box.

I found out from the previous owner (my boss) that he hardly ever used it, then one day he thought he might use it (about 6 month after he last used it) and he just heard a bang and the thing never worked - i really hope the motor aint buggered, cos that thing looks wayy expensive

From the description he gave, sounds like the motor is dead! Keep looking on ebay, they often come up cheaper than retail part
