Superchips?

Post by Matty2021 »

Is there a guy somewhere in the vast space that is ukpolos.net who does uprated ECU's. How much do these cost, and how much difference are they gonna make to a 1.3 size engine? thanks chaps 8)

if you've got a GT then Hardhitter is the man, got his own little section at the bottom of the forum....or if your car isn't a GT then i think poloace on club polo does chips for normal mk3's for around £30

i think poloace is a member here too but probably not frequent.

Well, I'm going to be selling a 1.0 chip quite soon ... it didn't have a massive effect, but I was satisfied enough with it. A bit more low down torque, a bit better economy. Allegedly you don't really feel the effect unless you've got a decat/straight thru (depending on your reg plate) exhaust and sports air filter already, so my HP didn't seem to go up noticably, and you'll be better off saving up for those first.

1.3 owners who have had them, with those mods in place, seem quite happy with 'em, so his business toddles along. It's more worthwhile if you have a GT or G40 though, as the MPI system is more precise and tuneable (the SPi is more for simplistic reliability and tolerance of crap fuel, i think)

:D i refer you to my first post a screen or so further up

i.e. if you're hard tuning the car and already a little way along it's worth it. its maybe not so great an item as a first-of-everything mod, but hey... its still pretty much the cheapest.

Come visit my section on Porka, they are worthwhile, due to advanced igntion curves your car will feel abit more responsive. Obviously I do not claim you will gain a lot of power as to gain the most from a rempa you will need it to be custom mapped to your car as they are all slightly different and this will cost you aver £250.

I also offer full refund if you are not happy so there is nothing to loose :D
