Bonnet damper for the 9n3

Still have never quite understood why VW took the bonnet damper of the 9N3? The 9N models had this as standard, so why was it not on the 9N3??

Does anyone know if you can put a bonnet damper on the 9N3? Not looking for an after market kit, rather maybe a GTI damper (If it comes with one) and fitting that, or putting a 9N one on??

I'm pretty sure that the 9N one would fit quite easily.
I'd have to go look at my sisters 9N and compare it to my 9N3 to see exactly
