Wheel bearing?

Post by Tahrey1043 »

More of a general car question rather than straight 'dub (lost my MiGweb password )

....clicking noise as you roll along, matching the road speed, and a funny "rubbing" noise at certain speeds, particularly as you go faster..... knackered bearing?

sounds like it mate...if you know how to check the bearings then i'd suggest jacking it up and having a play with the wheel.

well at least it's not MOT time... and i'm not having to take the 200+ mile round trip I thought was on the cards today :D

first i heard it, it sounded pretty chronic so i actually pulled right over and gave the wheel a wiggle, thankfully not bad enough that it wobbles when on the ground. i'll give it a shake later on as it's due an oil change anyway so it'll be getting jacked up.

plus it desperately needs new tyres up front (being able to get wheelspin in 2nd when it's wet and then do sliding-to-a-stop showboating at red lights is rapidly losing it's fun factor) so i can kill two birds with one stone... ehhhhhksellent
