vwII brake upgrade..parts check ??

im getting a pair of vwII calipers from mr groovy carrot of here

im hoping to upgrade the brakes on my 1988 f plate 1300cl squareback..can anyone confirm what else i need and whats what

would i be correct thinking i need...

239 vented mk2 golf gti discs
pads from a 239 gti

then do my orig hoses fit ?

how much of a improvment do they make?? im kinda used to mk2 brakes now

i think its the VWII calipers that are fitted to the G40.

so would i be right in saying that a G40 set up is what you require? do you have the carriers too?

ahh....well.....

you'll need the carriers for sure as the standard polo ones differ from the g40 ones. then you'll just need disks and pads as far as i'm aware!

The VWII calipper is the same whether it is on a golf 1, golf2 og g40.. U can also use the carriers from a regular golf mk1 with VWII calippers.. it needs small mods. but no problem..

I know the design is different on the G40 carriers, but I thought it was possible to use VW1 carriers with VWII callipers? I could have sworn someone told me that was possible.. or am I thinking of the pads?
