Which alloys?

Hiya everyone, just joined today!
What it is i have a 1998(R) reg polo 1.416v and yesterday had the opportunity to buy some 16" TSW Alpines for my car, at the minute it just has the standard alloys on it.
Tried fitting the alpines but they didnt fit

what sort of alloys would, size etc..
I love the car its been my escape but after having it for over a year now would like to change the wheels etc.
I have looked at the photos in the forum and some of the cars are BANGIN to say the least!!!
Would love to hear what you have to say!!

Hello and welcome to the forum!

Nice valver by the way.

As far as wheel sizes go you'll need 4x100 fitting ones (4 studs at a diameter of 100mm) with an offset of around ET35-38.

There are people on here running anywhere from 14s to 17s on Mk4 (6n) Polos like yours, so it's down to taste (and archwork) really.

If it were my car (and it's not - it's yours) I'd go for 15s and 195/45 tyres, possibly split rims off a GTi and then go for a slight drop, say 35/45mm. Then again, I'm quite cautious in my approach...

Thanx for the reply Andrew, glad you like the car!!
Yeah i havent got a clue when it comes to the wheels and what sizes etc as ive always kept to what ive had on the car, but im interested in sorting some for me baby as i think she deserves some!!!!!!

I will post on the MK4 forum too, thanx for that!
Gonna start lookin now for some wheels now.
