What oil to use????????????

hi, i got a 1.4cl 1995 polo and i m doin a oil change and just wondering whats the best oil to use?????????? and are there any addictives to use to improve and protect my engine????

I used to use Granville 10w/40 semi-synthetic when I had the valver. Seemed decent enough and was only about Â£8 a gallon from my local motor factors...

quantum silver 10w40 reccomended for all dubs and the gold for disel cars.
