Tarting it up

This is my new motor! and i do beleive its about as tracor as it gets.
i do have some plans for it, but there in the air untill after i've finished uni (next week!!!!) and been on holiday for a week :D
mainly, deck it, new alloys.. maybe vw or ats cups unsure yet. debadged grille, clear lights (unsure on rears cant decide which i like)
gt tdi front splitter, maybe a new air filter, and maybe some interior tweaks (bar the obligatory ice)
My first question is has anybody done anythingk about the bloody awful front grille under the number plate on a 1.6 8v? its SO ugly! im tempted to try honeycomb or some black mesh.. any ideas? dont want to get caught up in a smooth it/1v bumper etc debate, just want to make the stok bumper a tad less foul :D
any other suggestions?!

black mesh would look good, but once you remove the grille there are small metal tabs that stick up, these will need to be removed otherwise it will look tacky when u put the mesh in place, other than theat your plans sound goods! what does the gt tdi splitter look like?

pimp-tastic :D
i havent really twiddled with the car at all yet, want to get it serviced, and seeing as its only done 37k, probably do the cambelt, clean up the pulleys and sling the cam cover in the bin. polish rocker cover, colour code the engine cover etc.
plenty of little job to keep me busy over summer :D
i shall have to go round all the DIY stores now looking at black rigid mesh so i dont have to go into halfords or motorworld :S

i aint taking off my rubbing strips i dont trust students at my uni, being a bit older than them dirtbags i appreicate how much I had to pay for the car.. clearly they dont!

im still unsure what im going to do, just fettle it up i think and go for VW alloys these current ones are crap :P
also considering a cheap project mk3 polo.. so maybe spend more on that and use this as me run around.

aye its a really nice motor that one.
just considering getting a cheap car to build up, admittedly all cars are cheap to fix/twek compared to my corrado but i need a reliable car i dont grate over speed bumps (rado did that and it wasnt lowered!)
o just a thought, always wanted to build a purple VW show car :D
