Hi some pics of my dragon green polo

Post by luke »

Hi im Luke,

Some pics of my car, as i've never got around to posting any up or even posting on here much. I've had her just over a year and a half, no trouble except a thermostate go pop and that was taking my granny to the doctors, never let me down since with the exception of the thermostate. At first she was a little a chaved up - well the wrong styling applied to her but i've saw the error of my ways and go rid of the lexus lights, the dodgy RGM front splitters, front screwed on eyebrow and the wannabe angel eyes off ebay (the sh!t DIY ones) all my mates got scared it was going back to standard but because OEM+ is the way forward :D she looks better in the later pics than the top picture but so would a turd.

its nasty first pic i know so be carefull if your easily offended!!

excuse the dirtyness and crap picture here its off my phone lol

the last one was with local car club (SW-CC) a little photoshoot up brecon beacons this wasnt the final location more an on the way piccy.

i would like to change the Katana's (up for sale in other thread) for something a little more euro. They are just not going to go with the look that i want. Hopefully coilovers soon but otherwise i have mrk 5 rear lights, clear indicators and side repeaters - (the usual polo light clean up) Peco boxer backbox, althought im thinking of getting a replacement as its wakes up the girlfriends neighbours, maybe a fullsystem with a twinpipe on the end  . Dash and door cards resprayed in body colour green and some cream bits. Looked good when i done it last year but should of been retrimmed it. Vibe components in the door cards, Vibe 6x9's on retrimmed parcel shelf and fli 12" sub, i did have two fli's but the one went pop. looking for a replacement sub that will take 600rms. two 7" flip down sunvisor screens and dvd player tucked away in the dash. Light green tints on rear three windows, dont know if i should of just done them black but i like the green tint on there as i dont see many other cars with green tints, could be because people dont like the look mind :? . removed rear wiper, bump strips, and de-cluttered the boot. spent most of my spare pennies lately on sorting the servicing out hasnt been done in 20k miles so lots to do. I've got an ibiza front splitter on order. so should make her look a little lower than monster truck ride hieght untill i get the coilies. what are you guys finding the best ride height for handelling? or u just slamming it as low as the coilies will go ?

ALL COMMENTS WELCOME - Thanks in advance Luke

well i kinda lost the badboy somewhere between south wales and west wales a 2 hour drive. i arrived with half of it left. so it was pointless keeping the otherhalf, although i did buy a metal weld on one from venommotorsport but havnt got around to getting it to the bodyshop to be done. I have other priorities at the moment, break pads ordered this afternoon 31 quid for green stuff hope there okay had no previous experience with them, so are they any good or should i be looking at getting better ? And my rear wheel bearings are whinning so they need doing! I heard that i could get a 3 piece strut brace set by FK for around 80quid i seen it on Rennsport but it isnt on there any longer any ideas where i can get the 3 piece set else where for the same sort of money?
Thanks for comments i nearly didnt post the first pic because of the shame i feel making my polo look that horrid!

Good call on getting rid of the chav vibe

With lowering people have different opinions. Some just slam it on coilovers to the point where they can no longer get more than one passenger and struggle over speed bumps. Others however (me included) prefer a more tidy/practical lowering. My car's 50mm at the moment on 16s but it's been sold and I'm getting a Mk5 Polo GTi so I'll probably go to 60mm on that :)

I think if you get some new wheels and lower it the car will look very tidy 8)
TBH Alun, 50mm should be fine on the GTi as well because it already sits about 10-15mm lower than the other Polo's.

I just cleaned her and waxed with some megs next generation shampoo and the newer version of the wax (the first batch of the wax was awful) and buffed wax off with woolworths electric buffer (VERY CAREFULL - with it thou. It scares sh!t out of me first time i used it today, i was feeling lazy) So shes shinny again! 8)

towbar brace still on their, did intend on taking it off with the actucal towbar but it was rusty and didnt want to budge and it spans length of rear bumper it can stay may protect me a little if i ever get rear ended
