HELP need a new clutch cable

my clutch cable has just broken!!! now getting a new one from vw dealer is my last resort, as they tend to over price. i have rung around some local but good car part companys including halfords, and know one stocks or knows what clutch cable the polo gti takes, can anyone tell me a part number or something as i need one urgently for getting to work......many thanks

just had a look and discovered that its not the clutch cable but the clutch pedal. i have taken a few pics with my phone, they are not that good but should give an idea, so my next question is, what is this part called? so i know what to ask for when i order one, its the bit that kind of comes of at an angle at the very back end of the pedal. any help would be much appreciated......many thanks lads (ok pehaps i wont load the pics as i just found out i cant) hope my description is full enough[/img][/url]

Almost certain that will be your pedal box that has collasped, there was a recall on these to get replaced a while back if yours wasn't done then you should be able to get it done free however if its went again its pretty expensive to replace due to the labour involved, I have heard of a couple of folk where the new modified pedal box has broken anyway.

but in case it is your clutch cable, just get it from the dealer, about Â£20-25 or so..

Its a VAG only part you could try vagparts however the actual part is pretty cheap from the dealer when I got mine done its was Â£23. Its the labour to remove half the dash to fit the thing that puts the price up.
