Since I disconnected my battery from my car to replace a thermostat (but then realised battery could stay were it was -derr), my remote central locking has not worked. I have two sets of keyfobs and tried both. Is there some sequence to resetting the central locking after the battery is removed. The keyfob is for the alarm and the remote locking. Now only the alarm works and the locks have to be opened/closed manually with the key. I have had the pump tested to see if it runs and it is working fine (applied a small voltage across it to see if it runs). I've checked the appropiate fuse in the fuse cluster also. I hear no motorsound when the key is turned. I have no manual because all the heynes's manuals I've seen (in the shop) don't tend to encompass the 1.4 16V model of R-reg polo.
Box of chiccies for the person who resolves this issue for me. I am handy enough to try a few things out.
Any help would be appreciated, though it seems to be a topic that not too many people can resolve.
I did buy a bundle of CD's from e-bay hoping it would give me the answer but they wouldn't load up properly. If you see any advertised as service manuals - DON'T BUY THEM.
