How good would it be if VW exported some Polo 6N GTI to UK!?

Hi everyone,

I have been browsing the Internet this evening, and found some photos of the 6N GTI in Germany and would like to share these pictures with everyone. I wish VW exported this 6N GTI to UK in that time! They are super rare and really nice. How good would that be if we could them in UK as well?

they are pretty darn sweet
not much diferrent from the 16v though! just the alloys and bits of red here and there

looks nice a didnt think they mad a gti 6n plus its the mobil 1 interior from the 6n2

hmm, not sure its real, seems like an engine transplant and design/interior mods - why would VW re-use an "old" 6n1 interior in a newer 2000-2002 car when they put the 6n2 GTI out??

that engine is defo 6N2 GTI only, also has audi tt pedals and perhaps even the 6n2 gti gearstick.. also the Gamma headunit is not present in one of the pics, some other model is and the last pic of a 2nd car does not have the front grille gti badge - maybe someone with a 6n1 with bbs on?

could be wrong, but the car 'seems wrong'

nope it is real they definately made but as stated only kept them in germany etc. basically everywhere but here, ive seen a few on ebay, and if i remember correctly (which i usually don't) this version ran up until 2000 so this version kind of merged in with the 6n2 gti also the clocks are different i think there was a topic a while where everyone was trying to guess what they were.

i think it's sweet! its a mix of the 6n 16v and the 6n2 gti, it was a step in between! yeah it defo exists as there have been previous posts on here before, and i was tempted to get on when looking for a polo, but it was LHD and from the ebay on spain! looked lovely!

Like the red interior, is schweet. Also wouldnt mind a 1.6 lump in mine either... one day lad, one day...

You are right 'inder', I found another VW official photo of the 6N GTI, and the gear stick should be different to the 6N2 GTI. I still think it would be great if VW exported some into UK in that years, as I think they are the proper mk1 Polo GTI. If they produced limited amount of them in UK would be even better, just like the G40! Anyway.............

Upholstery is the same but the actual seats are different.

so i take it that the 6n gti would be faster than the 6n2 gti.
due to the weight difference.?
dose it have the same power??
