Help needed with electric window!

Post by howett »

Hey,

I've just attempted to correct the common problem with the electric windows. Bought the repair kit and tried to follow the video. Unforunately the steel cables that lower and raise the window came unwound from the other cog. I replaced them as I thought was the right way but on reconnecting the power it sounded as though it was jammed somewhere. On closer inspection it seems as though I have now damaged the other cog and indeed the steel cables. Does anyone know how much this is (A) likely to cost for VW to fix, or (B) for me to buy the necessary spares.

Much appreciated.
Matt
