My 6N2 Valver *Updated*

Post by loud »

Finally bothered to write down what i've done to the car for the members rides section!

Model: Polo 6N2 16v

Engine: 1.4 16v (100bhp), BMC CDA Induction kit

Suspension: Eibach Sportline 50mm lowering springs

Brakes: Standard discs all round, soon to be upgraded

Wheels and Tyres: 7J front and 8J rear 15" RH AD Cups with 195/45 toyo proxes all round

Exterior Styling: Votex rear spoiler, gti grille with black badge, gti bumper grilles and splitter, debadged rear apart from the VW, richbrook anti-theft aerial, one of the very few that came standard with 2 stubby wing mirrors :-D

Interior Styling: Interior is the same as the GTI model, except it is all black, the seats having dark grey detailing. No stupid 1 embroidered on the seats, woot! Richbrook alloy tax disc holder with VW engraved on back

ICE and Security: Sony Headunit, standard front and rear speakers replaced with JBL ones

Comments: Next in line is painting the splitter and then most likely a powerflow stainless system. I know it isn't slammed but if you had seen the speedbumps on my road you'd understand why :x

Looks well nice. Wish i'd bought them wheels over the borbets.

With regards to the powerflow, i work with a guy that used to work at a tuning place, he reckons they're crap. Because there made on the vehicle the back pressure is not tested, so usually performance goes down rather than up. Apparantly companies that sell specific ones (janspeed, supersprint etc) have all their's tested for maximum power output. Also, although they say they're stainless, the welds they use aren't so they rot out (I have a back box by them on my cabby and its done this)

Loud do your tyres stick out of ur arches? The reason I am asking is I might be gettin 8x14's and I need it to be able to pass motd. Have u passed ur motd with them on? Rims dont look as good on a silver car I fear but your car does look mint ;)

Good work.

cheers for the comments :D

my tyres do stick out beyond the arch, but the tread doesnt so they are legal, i've had it mot'd with these wheels on.

If I didn't have 195s stretched on the rears they would be illegal

here's a short clip of my bmc in action, wasn't a place where i could let rip but you can hear the deep note it has, and that's with a standard exhaust. Yes i know its on its side, i couldnt be bothered sorting it lol

I need to modify my engine cover like you have too 8)

With regards to Powerflow, I've had no issues with mine although I have heard that different dealers offer wildly differing levels of quality :|

I specifically requested my exhaust's pipework to be made the same diameter as standard (50mm on the GTi) and can honestly say that the car feels no less powerful than it did with the OEM exhaust :)
