One of the top-spec AMG Mercedes bi-turbo models (I can't remember which one but is was on Top Gear with a review by JC) has got over 750nm torque but only because the AMG engineers had to cap the torque before it threatened to tear the powertrain apart
1000nm of torque is just mad, imagine the sheer force that must generate
