amping comps 6n2 - wiring

Post by gti_black »

just wandering has anyone amped their component speakers in a 6n2/mk5?

what wiring route did you use and where their any problem along the way??

ill most likely mount the amp in the boot and then run the speaker wire from theyre into the xovers which will be mounted inside the doors. how do i get the speaker from the car (lower side sill's) into the door?? will 16awg wire fit through the rubber pipe betwwen the door??

any advice appreciated

please dont put cross overs in doors, prone to water damage, extend the wiring, and fix them to panel infront of door,i have never attemped to fit conponents to polo, but have to my other cars,it a pig trying to get wiring through doors,if u can use stanard wiring and locate where it comes into cabin,u wont notice any difference in sound quality using stanard wiring for that short distance, but use heavier gauge from crossovers to amp

Hi There,

Just Recently installed 2 x 10'' Subs in a custom Box And also Uprated front Components. and Also Tweeters

b***h of a job to do, but the sound quality is so Much Better.

You Have to pop the door cards off, bit of a pain and watch how you do it, Ran the cable from the Battert Down the Right hand side of the car along with a speaker Wire (Will Be Wiring up To Amp)

And the Remote Cable and Output Cables (Sub and PreOut) Down the left hand Side, Again while there running Speaker Wire to to run the componenets of the Amp,

At the minute the Comps are running off the Headunit, but due to weather cant be assed to do it, as long as you have patinence You'll Manage
