From VWVortex:
The situation does sound pretty serious, but I doubt they'll shut down over this.
The article describes a liquidity problem, where rising material costs coincided with lower-than-expected revenues. The company has large OEM customers who are willing to make advance payments to restore solvency, but one of several creditor banks balked at approving the deal. It sounds like the bankruptcy filing was necessitated because of very particular legal requirements. I don't think it means the cessation of operations.
With the current economic situation in Germany, I doubt that the parties involved will allow that many manufacturing jobs to disappear just like that.

I hope they don't close down.
I don't think such a big company like BBS would shut down, they can't just shut down all of a sudden without warning anyone
(pardon me if they did warn people
)

I LOVE BBS's!
They can't go bust! i bet so many people complain about how long they spend cleaning them!
IMO, bbs's look good on any car! would be a shame to loose them!

Hmm, I don't know very much about German commercial law, only English.
Whatever happens I doubt the BBS brand will just disappear over night, the name itself is worth a hell of a lot surely.
