Replacing the Rotar Arm on a 1990 GT

Post by 1990GT »

Hi

I have a 1990 GT and she didn't want to start this morning. The first thing I want to try is the rotar arm and dissy cap. The mechanic I used to use (who is now 170 miles away from me) mentioned to me that it is very difficult to get the rotar arm off my Polo. Does anyone know if this is that same for all GT's? If so, how do you replace them?

:? :? :?

rotor arm just pulls off.

I find the Easiest thing to do is pull a plug lead off, and check for a spark using a thin screwdriver inside it and earth it to the block.

Thanks.

I ended up calling the RAC, it was the ignition coil so I've changed it and she's starting perfectly again.
