I'm thinking of maybe upping the BHP of my 1.4 16v from 100 to 130. I've found a website of a performance company that can tune it to 130 or even 150! ive emailled them for a quote but no joy as yet...
This is what it entails: SM Sportcamshafts - SM Sports adjustable verniers - Sports airfilter - Cylinder head work - SM exhaust manifold - Sports exhaust system - set-up
Thats from this site http://www.advancedautosport.com/poloengine.htm (tuning kit number 47)
What would be the damage to my wallet for this work do u reckon? and is it worth doing it? ie not going to f**k the engine up or make it unreliable....
Cheers
Thinking of upping the BHP...costs??
ok mate cheers. i'm especting it to be around 500ish......i guess then theres labour costs.....i reckon i could stretch to £750ish for the whole job. I'm not really that sure if its worth doing because im hoping to get an evo next september, it might make the resale price a tad low.....
i'll have to have a gd think.....

you're damned right it would! I'm doing it up first, reiger front and skirts, badgeless mesh grill and the likes........thats going to cost me a fair bit with the spraying on top!! I'll see how my funds play out over the next few months.
If any1 has had work similar to what im thinking of i'd love to hear how much it cost, how much better and faster the car is and how its as reliable as ever!

I think for that level of work you're going to be talking about figures around the £1000 mark.
Exhaust systems, camshafts, cylinder head work, adjustable verniers are not going to be cheap. Plus by the sounds of it there's also the labour involved in fitting and setting up, again I doubt it'll be inexpensive.

I woz worried someone might say all the things you've just said!!.....oh well its fairly rapid as it is i guess. I'll do it up how i want it and leave the power as it is. i think i'd rather spend the money on the Evo. That has 260bhp standard so i think my money is better off put into the evo saving fund!
cheers guys
