Getting your wheel alignment sorted

Post by The_phat_controlleruk »

This really goes out to people who have slammed their rides, how many of you had major headaches just finding someone with the right equipment (ooooer, no pun intended) to sort the wheel alignment out. I tried about 5 places today, the first could not get the car on the ramps, the next set got the car on the ramp but could not clamp the equipment onto the wheels, it was such a friggin pain. One guy was forcing the equipment onto the wheel so much he scratched the bloody paint. I finally found a place in Dagenham called Elite (http://www.elitedirect.com/), they have ramps especially set up for lowered cars, and all their equipment is hub-centric. Got my car sorted toot-sweet, and was fairly cheap to. £50 to sort camber, castor and toe in/out. Car drives completely differently now.

That sounds positive. Its worthwhile finding a proper alignment centre, not just a Kwik-Fit type affair. Having the geommetry set up correctly will not only totally transform the ride and handling, but also prolong tyre wear! So its all good!
