Too good to be true??..........

Post by Black16v »

Saw these bucket seats on ebay, brand new and the price is for a pair. Now i know they won't be ultra high quality like a set of sparco's or recaro's but those retail at like £300 per seat!!

What do you guys reckon to them? too good to be true or a bit of a bargain?
I havent had time to measure my seats but are they the right kind of dimensions for polos?

I got them in mine mate, not bad for what I paid for them. I no there not to everyones liking but I wont the auction at £54.10 so I paid just a bit more for them than the crappy seat covers I had in before. Word of warning though they are not comfortabe, unless for some strange reason you like have absolutely no lower back support. But I had them in a couple of months now and I got used to them. I know they aint gonna last as long as sparcos and other leading makes but for the money Id say yes they are quite good. I dont know how you drive but Im quite tall so my seat is as far back as possible which means the person behind me has about 2" to fit their legs in behind my seat and the rear seat. I just say this because if you often have mates in the back it can be quite a pain.

Yeah i'm 6'4 m8! so im exactly the same as you, no-one can sit behind me at all, literally no leg room! Its how its always been anyway so i'm not too worried about that.

Ive got the 16v which apparently has 'sports seats' but at the top of the seat it kinda sticks out and right into the top of my back. If i drive for more than 40mins or so i get chronic back ache!!

I'll give it some more thought after ive got a few more opinions!
Cheers for yours!

not at the mo but i can get some. Ive sat in 16v seats mate and to be honest your probably best off sticking with your seats at the mo, if your uncomfortable in them these will kill you. :D

Cheers m8.............that looks the f*cking sex!!

I'm thinking about the red/black or just plain black ones. My theme is black and red throughout the car. I was worried that the red/black ones might look a bit busy with everything else ive got (red door speakers, red sparco gear knob, red cd player surround etc) but it looks the nads in your car!!

cheers!

They are black and red, but you cant see the red because its behind the seats. They came with the seat covers that I had before this, they were resistance or something like that.

They look very nice indeed!

How easy were the buckets to fit? it says on the ebay site that u might need to get sparco sub frames? did u have to do that or did the generic runners on the bottom fit straight in?

cheers!

I had to buy the subframes but they have to be altered anyway. Basically the runners on the sub frames are not as wide as the runners on the seats. So i got some steel bar and bolted that to the subframes and then bolted the seats to the steel bar. I got the frames from demon tweeks.
