I suspect it has been done, has anyone got any knowledge of putting an S3 engine (or infact any 1.8T) into a 6n2?
I am thinking of the next project, something to treat myself to in a year or so when I have finished my probation.
I really like my GTI, but want it to be more powerful and I love turbo's. So putting an S3 lump in would be a good thing in my opinion...
All suggestions/opinions/previous attempts welcome.

Get yourself down to JBS, they did Ash's mk4 20vT which I think was an S3 base engine (BAM). They made his look totally factory.
It'll cost you upwards of 7K though inc engine
i talked to alot of people about this and i would only give my car to The phirm, they involve you alot more!
phone call to:
J B S - 2 min
Awsome GTI - 1min (get lost pretty much)
The Phirm - 1 hour!!! went threw all the costs, what parts they'd use and how they'd do it. very impressed with them

The 210/225 1.8T remapped should be good for around 270bhp which in a Polo would be quick its a good balance between power, turbo lag and grip you would need a LSD though. I would have thought that there is no real extra work putting in the 210/225 engine as the only real difference on the outside is the manifold/downpipe is different so would need a fully custom exhaust but chances are they would do one for the 180 based engine aswell, the oil lines etc are different lengths for the turbo but this would normally come with the engine, the inlet manifold takes it fed from the right which is better for running a straight through FMIC anyway. The wiring and engine mounts are the same.

JBS want +- £8000+vat!!!
about £6000, BUT! what they do is alow you to build up the parts and keep them there! so you pay for it over quite afew months if you want. so, you found an engine - pay for it and send it to them, then you get hold of a gear box - pay for it and send it to them. He will then start working on the engine and gearbox i.e changing all the fluids and filters, etc.....
so you build up all your parts, he tells you what to get, see a good engine on ebay send the link to him and he says yes or no.
you need quite alot of parts to go with so all these are talked threw, custom drive shafts, ecu, pedle box is fixed properly (not like VW)
the labour is only £1800, they are really friendly and want to involve you as much as pos!
oh and the recomeded engine (the one seen to be solid) is the 180BHP block!
