K&N Induction Kit query

Post by NOZ »

Hi guys does anyone know if K&N do the 57i induction kit for the 97 plate 6n 1.4 16v DOHC Mpi and if so where's the cheapest place to get one? I know they do one for the 1.4 16v but it differs from the DOHC model so I won't risk having that with the current idling probs i'm having. I'v been to Motorworld which say they dont make one whilst Halfords gave me a price, which may be for the wrong kit anyway.

If they don't then where can I get the cheapest deal on a Pipercross kit for my model?

Let me know if anyone has any idea as my cars only doing half the miles it used to with the cheap and crap universal kit i'v got.

Fanx

yeh the 1.4 16v is the right one to buy, your 16v engine uses double overhead cams DOHC. Hope this makes sense the cheapest youl get it is around £100

I was thinking the same but aparently there is a difference between 16v and 16v DOHC mpi's, the 16v ran till 96 and the DOHC Mpi ran from 97 P. Motorworlds K&N catalogue showed me the same, they do 1 for the 16v but have a space for the DOHC mpi whilst showing it to show their actually 2 different specs.

The 16v shouldn't be a prob but i'll call K&N to be certain cos the engines not running too good so don't mess it up although that kits probably closest thing or maybe exactly the same :?:

Fanx guys
