Brake lights

Post by 1 GTI »

My brake lights stick on if i don't put my foot below the brake pedal and lift the brake pedal up to knock them off. It's a pain in the arse doing it everytime I need to brake. The pedal clicks when I lift it up and press it down. I think it's my brake light switch but im not 100% sure. Anybody know what else it could be? Cheers

Sounds like the break light switch needs replacing mate.

It costs around £8 from VW and takes 5mins to fit.

Is it easy to change? I've had a quick look, have to take off my cover above the pedals and i think it's the purple connector? Is it just unplug and plug back in?

This thread might help. It's quite easy to fit in there. An the part is like £12 from VW.
