changing to xenons

Post by denzil »

hi guys, just recently bought the new polo gti, and was thinking about changing the headlights over to xenons.
my last car had xenons (old polo gti) and you can really notice the difference when you go back to driving a car with normal headlights.
just wondering how easy are they to fit, and would it cause a problem in regards to the warenty?

yeah they look well cool mate, much brighter than the standard lights.
i can get a kit from hids4u for around £250, and the guy informs me that they are D.I.Y fit, really easy. Not sure if that is a good price or not, but it sounds quite reasonable to me.

piece o' p*** mate

because it uses the original clip that clips onto the bulb as a power source, all you need to physically do is take everything off, put a bulb back in and clip it on, takes 10 mins tops!

its not a requirement in the MOT to check levellers and headlight washers.

How come some people remove the front bumper to fit them though? Aye, also, have you had any problems from the police about them?

what he said ^ really...

i managed to mount my ballasts to the suspension tops, so its alright in there. i was thinking of removing the bumper to hide them in the supports, but not really worth the hassle

and touch wood *touches wood* i havent had any hassle from the police yet... but they think its standard xenon anyway as they are not stupid blue.

kc, any chance you could give me the phone number of the place where u got yours from?

£100 sounds a lot better than £250, would i need to cut any wires at all to fit them? (just a bit woried about the vw warenty being void if i start cutting wires etc)
