Lights..

Post by thatman »

Hi - i've just got my first car (Black Polo 99 1.4CL) and to be honest - ive only just got into cars so im no expert.

One of the first things i wanna do is put clear side / indicator lights on to replace the stock orange ones.

Thing is i don't know what ones to get and if i can fit them myself?

Thanks for any help..

Peace

pffft sod getting Hella ones. I got mine from German and Swedish for some silly price like 8 quid each i think...

They couldnt be easier to fit either dude. If memory serves its just a clip... or maybe a screw... then it definately at some point just slides out...

Actually wait im 80% sure they just slide out. If you put your hand flat to the orange bit and just pull towards/push away depending on where you stand im sure it will just come off. then you have to twist the bulb holder out at the back, then you need to buy orange bulbs and replace the stock clear ones.

Voila.

If you do take my advice just be sure to check there isnt a screw, i did mine nearly a year ago to the day and i honestly cant remember lol.

Maybe someone can clear this up?

no screw, just push and it slides off the front wing  .. then twist to get off.

Yeah like aaron said slide then twist the bulb holder off. Dont let that fall back inside the car though or youll be up s**t creek. I think, not 100% that it slides towards the front of the car.

yeah its really easy mate, i got mine for about a tenner off ebay for the pair, new. you just gotta un-screw the only bol;d holding it in with pliers and it will pull out, then twist off the bulb holder. Dead simple. remeber you need to buy orange bulbs though to go with it - about £1 from my local motorist shop
