Q's about which service manual to get...

Post by Sunbane »

Hey all!

New user here - I apologize if I've posted this in the wrong section.

I have a 2001 6N2 (16v), and I've grown tired of getting robbed each time something in it needs fixing. Not long ago I had to fork out a small fortune just to get the hand break wires replaced. I've decided to order a service & repair manual in order to save myself some money.

What would you guys recommend? I've been looking at the Haynes one, but I've also found some dvd ones on eBay that seem interesting.

Example 1
Example 2

Would the dvd ones be worth it, or should I just go for the Haynes manual?
Are there other options that I have overlooked?

I would very much appreciate your input in this matter. Thanks! :D

Dont go near those service manuals - they go by your engine serial, which as they are illegal, cant be looked up in the VW database. Its come up a while back on here :)
