Interior lights

Post by tinny_uk_75 »

Hi
New here and just got a Polo.

I have no lights on the heater controls and the dash lights appear very dim. Even when I turn up to full illumination with the dimmer.

I think the bulbs have gone esp in the dash - two at bottom appear to work but no others. Is this normal or have the bulbs indeed gone then is it a pain to get at them or is it simple?

An old Y plate ford fiesta I had really dim dash light and whan I took dash apart there were big blue plastic thingys over them, threw them in bin and I could see dash. - Is there a similar thing with the Polo?

Could be a fuse although you say two are working so its most likely blown bulbs. Check the fuses anyway and the wiring - may be badly earthed.

Its best to replace them with LEDs if you have to put new ones in.

with the heater bulbs, sometimes there's a loose connection. I fixed mine by hitting the panel with an open palm. Sounds like a pikey fix, but it did the job!
