car door dehandling

Post by JoeG07 »

Any one know where i can get both rear doors dehandled? And roughly how much i'm looking at? (or maybe all 4 doors if its not too much!) Is it likely to cost more than the value of my car? And does the mechanical release for them have to be external like under the mirrors? Or can you have a little control switch inside? (how cool would that be?!)

normally youd either have the buttons on the dash to open the doors when ur in it or if ur out of it i believe you have a little fob to do it. when i get another job im thinking of getting all 4 doors dehandles and the boot dehandles, altho the boot is slowly on its way to being dehandled now anyway. not sure about price tho but cant see it'll be much more then about £300 to get the 4 doors dehandled and sprayed.

Don't quote me but I believe completely de-handling a car is an MOT failure, something about accessing the car in an emergency.

should pass the MOT. if you have the button one. where on your key you have a button which pops the door open.

lol some of these replies are funny .

£50 must have been the worst job in the world lmao .

well... its normally £300 for both doors to be smoothed that includes door solenoids which can be places anywhere u want on the car really but on my 206 i have them under the wing mirrors and on the polo im going to have a button under the skirt of the car which u can do with ur foot .

it isnt a MOT failure at all , think about tvr's for example they come standard without doorhandles . i would say sod the money defo do it as it looks sick and is very practical for security reasons.

nah £50 because the guy he went with had only juist started his business up and wanted new customers ;) the job is perfect exept for one side had a slight bend in the paing, but was only lyk 3mm long. hardly noticable unless you were shown it. id shop around before diving in with expencivness.
