to fit new springs or shocks you'll need a strut removal tool (about 8 quid) and a spring compressor. The front will need re-aligning as the camber is set by adjusting the position of the upright and shock relative to one another.

as for fitting suspension i fit my own coilies and all i dun with got a allen key in the bolt on the strut then got a 22mm spanner and twisted em both opposite ways to undo it and then at the lower arm of the suspension just undone the bolts and off it came .

and same routine backwards to put it back on obviously. hope this helps

And you will need the tracking done as well as lowering the car will lead to toe error - camber is not sufficuent to correct this - it will wreck your tires in just a few miles (dependant on how low you go)

Sorry have to disagree there, It will not reck your tyres in a few miles, thats complete rubbish, i put my coils on and had it slammed, drove round for weeks before i got the camber and tracking done, and the tyres where fine, Granted after x amount miles it will wear your tyre abnormally, but not after a few miles !

No apology neccessary

Dropped mine by 60mm - reset the front camber and it drove fine. It had a nice set of tyres on it plenty of tread and no uneven wear - 200 miles and I'd lost nearly all the tread on the inside edge of the front tyres.

So maybe the tracking was out before I lowered it - maybe it wasn't - it drove fine before and whilst it was a bit twitchy after I put that down to go-kart type feel compared to a previous up on stilts tippy toppy ride.

Once the tracking was done and it was a mile out according to the guy that did it for me it was a lot less twitchy and I stuck the front wheels on the rear and I've had no uneven wear on the front since

Just what I found

Ah 200 miles lol, the way i erad you said a few miles mate, yeah i would reckon after that there would be uneven wear, as you say its the tracking and not camber that fecks them, i have a nice camber on the back of mine, the thing is like a go cart, Bloody rgeat it is 8)
