Immobilizer Mk3

Post by PGWLE »

Right, I'm stuck in Wales, my immobilizer is dead... I can't get towed as I don't have cover, so I'm going to have to do the repair here.

Its some scummy cheap unit who'ever had it before fitted, and the wire breaks and cuts make it clear where it goes, and what its doing.

Any recommendations or advice to removing it?

I'm going to trace all the wiring tomorrow, and work out whats going on. I've already done about half of it.

Does anyone how the ignition wiring for the PoloMk3 might be handy to have?

Not posted for a while here, but I got the car insured again last month! :D

Thanks in advance, feel free to laugh at my misfortune! L

In my experience they're easy to remove. just trace where the wires for the immobiliser are joined into the loom and cut them out (usually covered with about 25 layers of black electrical tape) You can usually tell which ends to join back up.
