Headlight switch

Post by mole »

I've posted this here as I assume more mk5 owners have played around with their cars than new polo owners. And this is assuming the mk5 has the same rotary headlight switch as the new polo.

Does anyone know....
How to remove the switch?
I've not had a play, I'd rather know how to do it before I give it a go myself.

Cheers.

well on mine (a year 2000 polo) you have to turn the switch to the middle position while pressing it...then it will unclip and you can remove it...

easy!

yeah i put it in the how to
1 put swich in 0 position
2 press on swich
3 turn to sidelights (dont worry if it locks there)
4 pull
5 return swich to 0
to refit just push it home
and if your swich is the same as a mk4 golf then this is what you want

It's a different switch but has the same operation. Have a butchers in a Haynes book for safe damage free removal.

i dnt think there is a haynes for the 6n2 yet so im certain that there isnt one yet for the 9n cos it usually takes 2 years for a manual to come out for a car
