Dent in drivers side door

There is a small dent in my drivers side door, not massive but one of them dents you get when someone in a car park whacks their door against yours...

Ive been told that taking the door card off and hitting it slightly with a piece of wood or a rubber mallet would push it back out, but dont wanna make it worse...

Any advice in small dent removal?

do not hit with rubber mallet of piece of wood u'll only make it worse
try to push most out with hand, then try a wall paper roller,(hard plastic wheel on handle) for cheap fix have tried before and got most of dint out
