Need some advice. I bought my car and it didn't come with the aircon system preinstalled. I wondered why. But anyway, the dealership ordered the parts and installed it but they didn't do a good job of it. (didn't like them either cos the boss lied to me and delayed delivery of my car for 3 months) When I pressed the recycle button, it lit up for a while and then it would off itself and some flap inside the dash would open allowing air from the outside to come in. Very annoying as the cold air would starts to warm up as it mixes with the air from outside. Not mentioning the foul smell coming from engine fumes.
I had the car checked again and they managed to stop the flap opening and closing intermittently but they never fixed the recycle button lights coming on and off. Anyway, when I was changing the pollen filter (again the dealership didn't have the stock, ridiculous to say the least) I noticed they stuck the flap as shown in the picture down with some black glue tack. In this position, the aircon works blowing the air but the air itself comes from the cabin. I thought aircon blower draws air in from outside. Anyway, when I removed the sticky glue and pulled the flap down hence closing the vent where the blower draws the air, the blower works but the air is not blowing out of the air vent on the dash. They even stuck some glue onto some gears as shown in the picture.
Can someone advice what the flap is suppose to do and how it works and is it linked to the recycle button. Cos when I removed the sticky glue and pressed the recycle button, nothing happen. Maybe they unplugged the cable to the flap as it clearly can rotate as the gear turns. If this is an unconventional way of fixing the car (which I know it is), would like to know and send the car back to the dealer to have them sort it out.

The last picture shows the car with the front bumper stripped down. I am repairing it due to an accident.
Thanks in advance.
