I had 7.5 17" and ET38 Rs4's on my last car - 30mm drop.

You will need to defo have 205/40/17 tyres.

You will get slight rubbing on the back with 5 people + speed bump. Its nothing serious.

Front, you will get rubbing on full lock - again - nothing to serious if you can use a grinder.

TBH , had a polo with 17"'s and had the GTI with 15"s. Go for 15" and slammed - or 16" with 50/60mm drop. You will like it more.

Well These are ET40 and only 7j as apposed to 7.5j and im pretty sure they have 205/40/17's.

I hardly ever have 5 people in the car - usually 4 people maximum.

I've got 16" atm but I fancy a change! I havent lowered it at all yet but im thinkin a 25-30mm drop on the 17s

In theory this should be fine yeah?
