Welcome to the forum mate,

They look sweet, better then the cups unless you want that deeper dish look. Turbo's should be fine running 195/45/15 tyres and lowered 80mm, might be possible to go lower. If you want to run 8js on the rear then you might have better luck asking one the guys running them. ET also makes a difference on scubbing outer arch. 35-38 recommended for Polos.

I'm running the wrong tyres (195/50/15) lowered 100mm on 7.5j all around. Always scrub inner arch on full lock (need smaller profile tyres n less width) and also if hit a pot-hole (crator more like) or speed bump. Load the car with 2 passengers and you get the same feeling as a cats paw against a chalkboard!!!

PS- if you want the Turbo's to look even better then get rid of the logo and polish them like crazy!

The Turbo's deffo look the best. So 80mm shouldnt scrub?. What sort of drop has the car i posted been dropped by 80 or 100mm?.

Your safe with 80mm. Difficult to tel but looks like 90mm from the pic. Mines looks higher but its got smaller gap between the tyre and the arch so thats wha my guess is based on. Its best to get coilovers, if so then drop it 90 and check for clearence and if you want then lower it more  Even if theres no scrubbing you also have to take into account road conditions ie speed bumps cos thats worse.

The trend is basically 'if it ain't scrubbin, you ain't dubbin'. So go as low as you can where your on the limit to nearly scrubbin. Think I failed tho, Petrol tank even scrubs speed bumps if not careful

Good to know i'v parted wisdom and hopefully you'll slam it totally. Coilovers range from 30-120mm drop I think. If theres no speed bumps then your in luck. My car used to run on 14's lowered 120mm. It was only 30mm (ish) off the ground

Therefore you can get away with 110mm I reckon. I'v currently got FW 40-120mm coilovers, superb on handling but the lower you go the more you sacrifice comfort- we can't have it both ways so I know which i've chosen cos the height could make your car look so different.

Upload your pics and others can comment, might get more ideas

Am not to fussed on comfort TBH, Coilover will be better like you say plus i wanna take it to the "Ring" if i pass my test before the end of the year, As there is a group going in mid April. Them alloys also look good, But 30mm of the ground? Wimp .

Thanks for the answers!. What price do coilover start from?. I have seen them on here for £163 or something in a thread?.

Not very wimpish when I bought the car. First drive back to London and I bombed it back hitting 120mph (now imagine the sparks that came out from underneath everytime the bottom kept hitting the ground, if the sparks met a leaking petrol tank then it'd probably be a 120mph fireball  Chanced it, nothing like a proper test drive even if i'v already bought it.

Think it was 3cm off the ground, don't know but guess for yourself from the big pic. Anyway your a lucky fella getting to thrash yours around unlike me who can't afford to chance things going wrong. The coilovers ere are decent, saw them myself and would save you alot of £££. Just shop around and do research and find out whichs best. I don't have a clue cos mine came with the car.

TBH i cant wait now. Wanna find a nice car 1.4 or 1.6 16v and slam it on Turbos. Not many around Blackpool so it should stand out. I see your coming this way for the lights near the end of this month. I think i might pop down and have a look.

Once you get started you'll never stop, trust me. it'll eat away at your wallet and your time but when everythings just perfect; nice B road, music, mates, convoy journey its all worth it for them lil moments in life.

If your planning on a mk4 which U R then get the 1.4 16v. Its the fastest out of the bunch cos the 1.6 is only an 8v (not 16). Insurance is alot higher though being in group 10 unlike the 1.4 8v which is in group 5.

Don't know about Blackpool, meant to be going there around a month later with a few mates.

Keep looking and theres no rush cos mine had a few hidden problems which became aparent a month after purchasing her and I think I paid too much.

another tip would be get a 2door 16v, looks better +the extra doors weigh a ton on 5doors.
