iv not put up many pictures lately due to working commitments and changing jobs so i thought i would share a few with you now

i have added a few bits and although pictures aint great (off my phone) you get the idea, ill get better ones as and when i can, the bits i have done are:-

front and rear forge braces
colour coded bumper valances front and rear
colour coded sideskirts
enfig antenna (similar to s2k aerial but without the chunky base and reception is maintained perfectly)
9n3 polo cup spec blue anti-glare mirror glass
rear mudflaps for winter

i have also got a blanking part for the drivers doos lock barrel on the handle to de lock it, i may well do that yet too as well, after all, smooth is the key haha

looks very nice, I think you also picked the best parking space

only thing I'm not sure on is the chrome rear boot strip, IMO it doesn't quite suit the smooth black look of the car. that's just my taste though.

much difference with the rear brace or hard to tell?

cheers david, yeah its one of only 3 big wedge shaped spaces on the whole car park haha

the braces look great and yeah you can feel a difference, not immense, but its defo added to rigidity

as for the chrome strip, i know its not everyones taste, but i like it, i feel it blends with the front and rear chrome badges etc

yes, there is only the wire for my road angel what rattles now david, it makes steering feel more positive too

and yes alex, pleate front and rear are darkened ones

Was there a lot of work involved in painting the side skirts and spoilers as they're textured?

I was looking at getting mine done but I think I'm gonna get a Bluemotion front spoiler first.

De-locking the door is a piece of cake when you come to do it. It makes the drivers side look a lot smoother...only thing is, you lose the function to close the windows!

What Sershen means is that you lose the function to close the windows by using the key in the lock (twist, hold, windows and sunroof (if fitted) will auto-close). Obviously the electric window switches inside the car still work

cheers everyone,

@ serchen - yeah, lots of time with the sand paper and more time with the filler primer and then re sanding between coats, was a pain but looks great now, really loses that cheapness the unpainted parts give to the car

and kenny, i got the flaps from vw, they are not for the gti but for the normal model 9n's, you just have to make 2 tiny holes (you dont see them as they are out of sight, even if the flaps were ever removed) for the extra mounting screws the gti does not have in the wheel arch liner

sanding textured parts is a pain in the backside but worth it in the end! it's amazing just how long you have to spend sanding to avoid any marks when the final coat goes on. I did all my bump strips and it was an entire weekend of sanding and priming. I could have spent extra to get the pre-primered ones...... hmmm.
