Speakers
Depends whether you will be running an amp to the speakers or not, if not you can go for the cheap type, Fly or Mutant for example. 6.5' is the size you will need, and also you will require the adapters.
If running without amp,you wont notice a massively huge difference but will still be better than the factory installed speakers. Your Alpine should give it 60watts if its 60*4 for example.
A amp running the front speakers in my opinion will be the best option, more cash required but deffinately worth it, 2 channel or 4 channel amp(for rear speakers) and something like Boston Acoustic, DLS etc. I go for JL Audio only myself. Cheaper option, Infinity's - Kenwood

I'll see how they perform...may add another set to the rear later...if I decide I need an amp....is the boot the only location option?

They seem ok,but why them particularly?Dont get me wrong, they could be really good, they are almost half price aswell. Try em,otherwise sell them on.The amp can be mounted underneath the passenger seat?Somewhere discreet is always good, boots normally the best though.KLAUD wrote:Thanks for the reply!

But what about something decent????steve__30 wrote:unless you are going to amp the front speakers then keep the standard ones, they r alot better than fly, fusion etc..
If I was to buy either of the following...at around £50-£60
JL Audio
Infinity
Rockford Fosgate
Do I need an amp in order for them to sound better than the standard speakers????
Either of the named will sound better than standard speakers, but dont expect a huge difference without amping them, ur H/U will only provide 50-60wrms to the speakers which aint enough. When u add an amp, youl notice the difference straight away, wont distort, sweet clarity, generally will sound a hell of a lot better if set up right. Get some sound deading sheets also which helps if amping.KLAUD wrote:But what about something decent????steve__30 wrote:unless you are going to amp the front speakers then keep the standard ones, they r alot better than fly, fusion etc..

So basically...people are saying that you need to spend around £100 on the speakers...plus ...how much for an amp??? the same again??alexperkins wrote:It also comes back to the quality of the amp used and you gotta spend a decent amount to get a good one!
All to get a better sound than the standard 35 watt Philips speakers.
Starting to think about putting them back in now...I have not heard them with the new head unit yet..Seems crazy spending another £200!
Ebay is your best option for kit under £200, or on the other hand the talkaudio forum. The peeps on there know what they are talking about.
You can get a pair of Infinity 6.5' inch speakers, for £60 brand new then look for a 4 channel or 2 channel amp. Theres some decent Alpine ones on Ebay, try bidding, you might get lucky.
