Just joined... saying Hi !!

Post by SixDegrees »

Having bought the Mrs a wee Polo to learn to dive I thoight I'd join up to find out lots of useful Polo info, snippets, technical stuff and the like.

Been driving VWs and Audis for years but this is the 1st Polo. Most of it is standard VAG stuff but experience tells me every car has its own niggles, tricks and hidden gems/thorns that the enthusiasts know about.

Cars are....

X Reg Polo, 1.4 SE 16v (75ps), silver, 3dr, 57k on clock
55 Plate MKV Golf, GT TDi 4Motion, 5dr, Grey, 26k on clock.

Have had a look around the forums and I see quite a few nice Polos of all ages, Euro style, UK style, in-yer-face and sublte... nice work those owners!!!

:)

Thanks......

The GT TDi is understated, but having drivne the wee Polo for about 4 weeks now I miss petrol and rpms above 4000! Saying that the 1.4 16V has nothing below 3750 where-as the TDi is off at 1500.

Swings and roundabouts.

Polo is a fun wee car, bit sloppy on the old 'comfort' suspension but brakes are good (GTi set-up as you'll know) compared to the new fangled crap/gash that VW have introduced on the MKVs.
