Fancying a Car Change.. Any Suggestions?

Post by MaxZ »

I'm starting to feel like buying the GTi just wasn't the right thing for me, so was wondering what suggestions people have for cars around the same sort of price, that would be good on fuel economy and not particularly that slow. Ideally I'd like a diesel as it would be so much better for all the motorway journeys that I do.
Insurance ideally below group 14..

So what do you recommend?

That's pretty much one of the 2 cars I have in my mind at the moment.. a GT TDi or an A3 Sport TDi, but they just look like euroboxes..

Aren't you a student Max?

Run an old high mileage diesel motor on chip fat from the local chip shop. Bargain motoring :D

Or be cool like me and get a Scirocco 8)

Yep in my 2nd year of uni! I would run an old high mileage diesel motor, but then it'd be slow as f**k and nowhere near as comfortable!
I've been looking at the 1.8 VVTi Celicas the other day and quite tempted to get one of these..

But have no info at all about them!

I agree on the TDI....im moving towards choosing a TDi now, as insurance is less as is tax for them!

Youve got a nice bit of flexibilty on the mapping so you can get that extra oomph out of it with minimal effort!
