Overheating

Post by Mouse_GTI »

Started noticing that I don't think my car likes the numberplate being on the front grille. All the way down to Polo Show and back the car was fine and for weeks after that, until recently when I've noticed the fan has been coming on a lot after town driving (I'd only heard it come on once before in a year!). On Saturday when I parked up I could smell it. Anyone else had this problem?

My car is totaly standard and my cooling fan comes on quite a bit, usually when I pull up at traffic lights etc...

And yes, after a hard run it does smell hot..

my fan comes on now and then too, and mines standard. Have you double checked your air feed hasnt moved or anything? You've got a custom one if i'm not mistaken? I can't imagine the source of it being your numberplate position

My air feed just goes to the wing like the OEM one but it's well stuck in. It's just a pain trying to move the plate all the time, that Velcro stuff is expensive. I'll keep checking it over the next few weeks
