radio cables have bien cut

can any1 help me i have a 1996 polo and the radio plug has bien cut off and i dont know what colours of wires do what has any1 any ideas thanks

:o man thats sucks, I'll have a look around and see if i can get u either some diagrams or some pics of the cables. Jus to make sure is it the VW polo connector plugs what have been cut? and not just your actual radios wire loom?

How did it get cut off?

From the top of my mind, you will have two plugs. One brown and one black. Just connect the colours again



Black is power supply. The black wire is the negative, connects to the other black one, red is ignition and yellow is permanent 12v. If you want the radio to work without the key in the ignition you will swap these wires : red connects to yellow and vice versa.

The brown plug is for the speakers.

White is or the front left speakers
Grey - Front right speakers
Purple - Back left speakers
Green - Back right speakers


The big black one is for the antenna and has only one place it will fit!

If someone could please confirm, since my memory may be playing tricks because of the amount of wires!

if the connection for your new headunit. comes with a plug. wire the colours up the same. thats what i did n it worked :O

i havent got a yellow cable its just a red and a brown
