Itll cost in excess of £2k and alot of hours. Phil will probs read this and tell you more bout it, but its not a cheap experience at all.

I wanted to put a GTI lump in my 6n as a cheap easy power gain, but you need the engine, wiring loom, dash (for the immobilizer) poss gearbox, if you could get a gti which has had a rear end smash that would be easier, but prob not cheap

if you can get the following:

engine, gearbox,
exhaust system (complete manifold to rear box setup- with both lambda probes intact),
Ecu,
engine bay wiring looms,
clocks,
pedal box,
all ancilleries (all hosing for the engine),

Anything else such as brakes, suspension you want changing then i can do it cheap...and i'm in northampton.

We're talkin £500 drive in and drive out. 8) (i'm flexible on price if you find cheaper elsewhere)

For the above it'll most likely set you back about £600-900, maybe more depending where you get it from. Best to find a crashed GTI.

Nah alex your being unfair to the GTI conversion dude!

I reckon we done it all for about 1k.

I got:

Engine
Gearbox
Ecu
Complete wiring loom
Clocks
Front brake set up
Rear brake set up
GTI ARB's

All for about £850

I spent another couple hundred on other stuff, that arent really required....i got new wheel bearings, brake discs, pads and hoses etc etc

So i reckon it can be done yourself for about a grand.

Or you could save yourself the leg work and pay sanj to do it, since he has the experience of doing it to a mk4 8)

Just to let you know, the pedal box isnt a must.....i kept my original 1.4 8v pedal and its been reet since the start.

It really is an easy conversion! Could be done within a couple days i think if you have good knowledge of it :D
